David John Anderson, who was born and raised in Wadena, died suddenly February 13, 1986 at the age of 48, at his home in Roseville, Minnesota.  Funeral services were held at the Roseville Memorial Chapel February 17.  Interment was in the Sunset cemetery, Minneapolis.   Pallbearers were E. Lawrence Anderson, Philip Black, Jack W. Hanson, Bruce Jarvis, Steven Stafford, and Harold L. Zosel. Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Williams; a brother, State Representative Robert A. Anderson, Ottertail, Minnesota; and the family of his brother Gerald, who died in 1979; Gerald's wife, Gail and children Andrew and Michael Anderson of Park Rapids. 

David was born August 26, 1937 at Wesley Hospital in Wadena, to Alfred E. Anderson and Frances Hassler Anderson, the youngest of three boys.  His father was the founder of the Wadena Silo Company, and his mother was active for many years in Wadena civic affairs.

David attended St. Ann's grade school and Wadena high school, graduating with the class of 1955.  He was active in scouting, football, track, wrestling, and cheerleading.  He attended St. Thomas College in St Paul, where he was also on the wrestling team, and sang in the choir.  During his college years he worked summers as a silo builder for the Wadena Silo Company.  He graduated from St Thomas in 1959.

He then began his career as an accountant, which he continued until his death.  He also attained a juris doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law, St Paul in 1971.  He was a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Bar Association, and Minnesota Bar Association.

He was one of the owners of the Chalet Chanticleer Restaurant, Ottertail, Minnesota, from its founding in 1961 until it was sold in 1980.  He was a charger member of the Wadena chapter of BPOE.
